According to our research, the contracting party of HappyBet is Trinity Bet Operations Ltd (reg. no. C 67122, Malta), based at 4, Center Dome, Level 1, Triq Il-Bazilika, Il-Mosta MST 3291, Malta. The platform holds the MGA licence MGA/B2C/254/2013 - licence surrendered. The parent company is Playtech plc (formerly; business divested).

HappyBet withdrew from Austria as of September 2024 and ceased its German operations as of 31.03.2026. According to the MGA register, the MGA licence MGA/B2C/254/2013 has the status ‘Surrendered’. Operated under hpybet.com or happybet.at (redirect). Playtech had sold HappyBet to Snaitech (Flutter), then withdrew from B2C.

Legal assessment

Online casino offerings aimed at Austrian players require a licence in Austria. Without this licence under the Gambling Act, the underlying contract is void. According to the established line of the Austrian Supreme Court (OGH), losses can be reclaimed retroactively for up to thirty years.
