Gamebookers is advertised in German-speaking countries with sports betting and casino games. According to the platform footer, the contracting party is ElectraWorks Europe Limited, with its registered office at Strand 120, Gzira, Malta (company register number C92636). The MGA licence and the reporting entity (bwin Holdings Malta Limited) are the same as for Sportingbet, Premium and several other brands from the Entain family.

For Austria, there is no nationwide licence under the Gambling Act, neither for casino nor for online sports betting.

What a reclaim at Gamebookers means

Casino losses: Without an Austrian licence, the contract with ElectraWorks Europe Limited is void, and stakes can be reclaimed for up to thirty years in line with the OGH approach.

Betting losses: Sports betting is legal in Austria. A reclaim runs through partial legal incapacity under Section 865 Austrian Civil Code, and pathological gambling addiction is established by expert opinion. As a rule, this is economically viable from around 50,000 euros in losses.

ElectraWorks Europe Limited is the operating company of several Entain brands. Similar proceedings against Entain subsidiaries are already underway before Austrian courts, and we know the group’s lines of defence.

How we proceed

The assessment is free of charge. We litigate at our own cost. If successful, R. M. Prozessfinanzierung GmbH retains from 35 percent of the amount obtained, and the remaining amount goes to you. Legal representation is handled by cooperating lawyers.
